Castles and Crusades Society
Castles and Crusades Society or C&C was a small spinoff group associated with
International Federation of Wargamers (IFW). Within the confines of Wargaming,
this group was interested specifically in Medieval times wargaming. This group
published an occasional newsletter known as The Domesday Book (spelled
Doomsday in some IFW newsletters). Dave Arneson and Gary Gygax
were also contributors to the newsletters as Chainmail and features
on Blackmoor first appeared here before famed publication later.
LGTSA (Lake Geneva Tactical Studies
Association) is basically Gary Gygax's gaming
group which included other folks from in and around
Lake Geneva (Rob Kuntz, the Gygax family, etc.).
They formed this group circa 1970 with
the purpose of organizing and publishing games
they developed. They were also concerned with
organizing game conventions and eventually,
'officially" as the LGTSA, shared the task of
sponsoring
Gen Con for a number of years.
