Sorry to be a debbie downer. But tomorrow morning I have to pack my daughter and her grandmother into the van and get them to Newark Airport for a 2 week vacation in Hawaii.
One thing about having children is the bond that is created. I can live without Hawaii but not her. _________________

That'll be hard. The only times I've been away from the kids are school and the hospital. I can't imagine being away from my family for more than a day. That's why they're included in all my plans. _________________ "This is cool."

I don't know how our comrade has done this for the better part of a month. Here I am crying about something that hasn't even happened yet! _________________

Well, I certainly had a distraction. Getting this website finished was a good one. But I miss my little one and the wife, too. In two weeks they'll be back, too. _________________ Tome of Treasures - #1 resource for collectible role-playing games.

That is a downer Scribe. Though, I must say, a two week vacation to Hawaii with her Grandmother . . . Wow! It's good you are so close,
I hardly trust either of the Grandma's to babysit for 3 hours . . . they're both totally nuts . . .
I have to leave for 3 days in mid-August which will be hard . . . especially as my wife will be 8 1/2 months pregnant by then. I hope no one decides to show up early! _________________ "Ah, Blackadder. Started talking to yourself, I see."

That would be the mother-in-law grandma. Don't get me started! But she is very responsible, to a fault. Too responsible for my tastes. So she is in good hands.
This morning, my daughter took a spill in the tub. She is gonna have a nasty shiner in all of her Hawaii pictures. It was pretty awful but I guess it happens.
They land in an hour and a half. _________________

It's awful when one of your children gets hurt or is in the hospital. Simply awful. I don't think I'll ever be able to truly relax again. I check them every night before I go to sleep. Children are the most tremendous responsibility that a human can have, and it doesn't even require a license. _________________ "This is cool."

You are right, serleren. She has been quite chatty on the phone and she NEVER wants to talk to people on the phone. She says I need to come there to see what she is seeing. The perception of the world is different at the age of 6. If it were only so easy.
I agree, Kynan. What are we gonna do when they become teenagers??? _________________

I've got two daughters, both blond and blue-eyed. Intimidating will be my starting point, and it'll scale up from there. Think "Meet the Parents", except with even more stringent standards for the Circle of Trust option for boyfriends. Sounds harsh, I know, but my sister got pregnant in high school, so I've seen what that can do to a teenage girl and her family. _________________ Let mirth prevail!

I just got back in town after a brief, 3 day work trip. I don't own a laptop, so my internet access was quite reduced.
I missed the familiy immensely and this is the last trip I'll agree to go on for quite some time as our due date is Sept 5. _________________ "Ah, Blackadder. Started talking to yourself, I see."

Nice to be back! I should have posted my own follow up on this. She is back with us now, she had a blast but missed us quite a bit. But now all is well again! _________________
